Pearl knotting

Reknotted, one pearl at a time

Strands restored and reknotted so each pearl has its own knot and the necklace drapes the way it should. This is the pearl-specific half of the hub card that used to share a page with restringing.

What we look at
Why knotsA knot between pearls keeps them from rubbing, and it holds the rest of the strand if one knot fails.
The restringWorn silk is replaced. The pearls stay in the order you brought in unless you ask otherwise.
The claspWe check the clasp and the last knots so the strand can be put on without a fight.

Pearl knotting is slow, careful work. We do it at the bench so you can see the strand go back together.

If the strand is beads or a chain rather than pearls, use necklace restringing. If you are not sure, bring it in and we will tell you which service it is.
